Building successful brands take different strategies. By bringing a core strategy whereby the creativity of my clients can excel though new business propositions while creating new market opportunities. I am business builder, a spreader of new ideas that capture market trends. Always ahead of the clients thinking, I'm known as a good listener and a quicker thinker.

My early days were spent in London, where i grew up. At Art college i studied graphic design and was particularly interesting in the growing phenomenon of Global Design a new design thinking focusing on the homogenisation of design globally and how to design around cultural differences. Graduating with a B.A Honours degree i joined Philips Design in the Netherlands.

I joined Philips Design in 1986 in the Netherlands, working internationally in the Communications and Packaging department.
Advertising Art Director Two's Company Vienna
1990 - 1995
In 1990 i moved to Vienna to start up a new agency. As Art Director i worked on accounts for Ahold (Manna) Hungarian Tourist Board, Austrian Olympic Commitee and Philips.
During this time i was introduced to Interactive Media and started producing CD Roms and interactive presentions. Back in Eindhoven i developed a number of award winning CDi interactive presentations for Philips, Werndl and the ABN AMRO Bank.
Cool.nl - Creative Director/Founder
1995 - 1999
I co-started my own Internet design company, one of the first in the Netherlands called Cool.nl - Communication online. With a small team with build the first generation sites for sports fashion brands such as O'Neill. Swatch and Adidas while also created the first ever ABN AMRO bank site. In 1999, the company was sold to Twinspark in a move for growth and technical support.

1999 - 2001
As Creative Director for Twinspark, and then Agency.com I managed a creative team within the internet agency while pitching on large scale internet projects.
Lost Boys - Creative Director
2001 - 2002
I joined Lost Boys as Executive Creative Director. Lost Boys grew fast to 600 people in the internet boom years. It was one of the most well known internet companies in Europe with offices in Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Paris and Barcelona.
Philips Design - Digital Creative Director
2003 - 2005
I returned to Philips Design in 2003 to help on the new, first Sense and Simplicity Philips Global website and manage all internet related projects for the division Consumer Electronics.
CMK1 - Creative Director/Founder
2005 - present
I started CMK1 with Marjo Kranenborg in 2005 with a focus on content and branding for the fashion industry. As a boutique agency with a growing knowledge on fashion marketing and the growth of online shopping CMK1 worked for well known high street brands as well as growing dutch fashion brands. But fashion is not the only focus also trends in Technology and Innovation across many different sectors such as wellness, food, online privacy, downloadable design and upcycling has made CMK1 a strong partner for Startups and brand looking to innovate. In 2013 Marjo Kranenborg left CMK1.
CMK1 is the pseudonym of Cathal McKee. Todays clients are not only a mix of technology, fashion and lifestyle, but are spread over the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Germany and the USA.
